FAQs

Is it true a custom home takes more than a year to build?

A Lifetime Homes project of less than 5,000 square feet will take approximately six to seven months to build. This schedule is the worst-case scenario, allowing for lost rain days and other non-controllable factors. Larger homes, up to 10,000 square feet, usually take about seven to nine months to build based upon complexity. Additional time may be required for special construction specification including steel framing, basements, tilt wall, and other special construction methods.

I’ve heard builders don’t like to alter their plans with new ideas, or charge a lot or money if they do. Is this true?

At Lifetime Homes, since every plan is developed from scratch for each homeowner we encourage you to customize your home to fit your lifestyle. There is no cost difference for our clients whether they make one change to a plan or create a completely new custom design.

What is the cost per square foot?

This varies based on location, house plan, foundation requirements, selections, upgrades and more. We need to zero in on the exact area of town, the specific plan, and other details in order to give you a precise estimate.

What does a “full service experience” really mean?

It means we are able to provide you with your dream house floor plan designed by us in-house or a partnered designer, building it, and with you living in it.
